Creedmoor Range

The Remington Long-Range Military Rifle was a 44 caliber but chambered to accept a .45 caliber cartridge case for greater powder capacity behind the 550 grain bullet.

The Brown Standard Rifle was of .45 caliber with an 8-groove bore, chambered for a Winchester case using a 550 grain bullet. In a test Mr Brown was able to shoot one group of ten shots from the back position at 200 yards that he could cover with his watch.

Cartridges of this style were the ones usually fired on the Creedmoor range.
